DAY 3
Nothing like sipping hot almond milk tea with a good friend on a very cold January evening. This good fortune kitty caught my eye. There were 2 different ones on the counter but this was my favorite. I love tea houses!
DAY 7
At 9 minutes before midnight, here I am. Successfully finishing up Day 7. I got this necklace yesterday. I thought it was rather cute and I love those soaring birds. Although their wings are still chained. Story of my life.
No problem! Thank you for asking. And yes, I will definitely be uploading non-cellphone photos soon. Also, thanks for the heads up on leap year - I hadn’t noticed!
Oh sweet. First question asked (aside from Tumblrbot) deals with technology ethics:
Unfortunately due to the Tumblr theme I’m using, I don’t think you can see that I have also tagged my images as cellphone photography. And yes, so far they are taken with my phone. I never lie about my “faux-laroids” and while I do have an actual Polaroid camera, I can’t say that I walk around everywhere with it, nor can I afford the $20-for-8-exposures deal that the Impossible Project provides. Sorry, man.
DAY 6
Today was not very inspiring. Perhaps it has to do with the drastic change in weather. 30 degrees one day, 50 degrees the next. It’s impossible to dress appropriately. On a side note, I finally bought prescription sunglasses. I’m excited! Sadly no Warby Parker because they don’t do prescription sunglasses - I think they plan to in the future. Today’s photo is of my regular glasses, which I’ve been trying really hard to wear more often. Mostly because my vision is getting worse. Bah!
DAY 5
Visited the Warby Parker pop up shop on Grand Street before it closes. Really nice frames there if you’re into the thick-rimmed, Elvis Costello style of spex. The great thing about this company is that for every pair you buy ($95 for frames + prescription lenses!) they donate a 2nd pair to someone in need of better vision :)
DAY 4
The epitome of New York City - the MTA, the subways, public transportation. Our means of getting around (aside from cabs, if you’re feeling fancy or super rushed…because that’s the city life). I take it for granted sometimes. I know I do. That one time I spent 2 weeks in Florida without a car was torture. I was suffocating. I felt trapped! I love going wherever I want, whenever I want.
I’m sorry for all the cellphone photos! It’s just so easy to get away with it…
